Last years winners of the Sally Perry Memorial Shield

Hi All

This years Katmandoo "Sally Perry Memorial Shield" event is to be held at the Celtic Lake Resort for the second year running due to the huge generosity of Mr John Carney who donates the use of his lake free of charge.

The event is to be held over the 7th-10th June 2010 which means three days and three nights fishing.

The shield is to be competed for by 25 pairs of anglers over the three days and nights and the pair with the highest weight of Catfish will win the shield, We will also have a trophy for the largest Catfish caught and a Team cup which will comprise of 6 anglers (3 pairs) fishing as a team for the highest combined weight.

The cost of this years charity event is again seventy five pounds per angler which is one hundred and fifty pounds per pair, great value I think you will agree. Cheques are to be made payable to MEHT Cancer Care Unit and sent to my home address at

42, Maltings Road, Gt Baddow, Chelmsford, Essex CM2 8HH

where I will collate all the cheques and take them into the unit.

MEHT Cancer Care Unit is the chemotherapy suite at Broomfield hospital in Chelmsford where Sally recieved her chemo treatment for cancer, whilst there,she was offered reflxology and aromatherapy, something I know she looked forward to at every visit. All the monies raised by us will be donated directly to the unit to enhance the facililties at the suite for people living with cancer.

Why not raise extra funds by getting sponsored by friends, colleagues and family, if you know anyone in the trade we will be looking for raffle prizes and prizes for the winning catagories, any help with these would be greatly appreciated.

We will be having a big BBQ on one of the days where we will have rods out of water period so we can have a bit of social time whilst having something to eat and drawing the raffle, all these details will be posted as we finalise them and posted here on the website.
